My name is Michelle. For the last 20 months, I've been on a leave of absence from sex. I know what
you're thinking, and you're right, I'm long over due. But I decided to take this leave of absence when I got
burned. I felt like I needed to gain control over myself. . Deciding for myself when to have sex gives me a
sense of power over my body. It's hard sometimes, but I'm dedicated to what I'm doing. In the past, I
have allowed men to come into my life and abuse the standards I have set up for myself. These are
standards my own self-respect is built on. I'm no longer going to allow someone to step over the limits I
have set for myself. You can't be out there gettin' your hump with everybody. I'm taking a stand for
something, so I won't fall for anything- again.

Minority populations have been impacted by HIV and other health disparities. Data supports that
African-Americans obtain health care later in the course of illness and have limited access to secondary or
specialized care. The United Deliverance Church of God in Christ, Inc. has been serving indigent
African-Americans in Palm Beach county since 1989 and the United Deliverance Community Resource
Center (UDCRC) was incorporated in 1999 as a formal extension of the outreach activities of the church.
This outreach program was founded by Sandra White, Executive Director. Since its inception, UDCRC has
planned and implemented several successful and effective programs that serve the African American
population to reduce the spread of HIV/AIDS, reduce the risk of high blood pressure, diabetes, breast cancer,
syphillis, hepititis, STDs and others. UDCRC has developed local collaborations and coordinated activities
with organizations that provide a wide range of these services. Our programs include:
